In the early 1970s, I visited Monterey, California, and made this picture of Lone Cypress Point on Kodak Ektachrome film. The appearance then of the famous tree is much different than it is today. There were no cables supporting it, and visitors could still walk out on the point as you can see on the left edge of the picture. The colors of my film faded over the years, but I recently restored them as best I could. I dated the copyright “1975” which is the date on the original 35mm slide.
